How do I tell my strict parents that I am dating someone?
Im 17 and my parents are so stricted that they dont let me date or talk to guys.
im going out with a guy and i dont want to keep it any of it a secret from my parents.
how should i tell them that i have a boyfriend?
what would let them let go and stop treating me like a baby?
You’ll just have to be straight with them. No matter what they say, and I’m very passionate about this, it is YOUR life, do with it what YOU want, not what they want. Pick a time when everything’s casual and just say: Mom, dad, I’ve gotta tell you something you probably won’t like. Just know that I respect your wishes, but I also want you to respect MINE. I have a boyfriend, his name is *name* and I don’t want to hide him from you guys. I’m 17 now and can make responsible decisions for myself.
Then, if you think they can handle it, why not suggest that they meet him? And in case you’re worried your dad might attack (lol) suggest going somewhere public? Restaurant? I know it would be a bit awkward but you need to lay down some ground rules and most importantly, stand your ground. You cannot be pushed around, especially not with stuff like this. Remember, it’s your life. Also, if you really like this boy, you won’t be so nervous about going through with this. Oh, and very important: Be confident =)
Good Luck =)

In a year legally you can go out to clubs and f*ck every guy you want to.
Explain to them they raised you right and they have nothing to worry about, you need to experience the adult world, and you’re not getting any experience this way. Maybe calmly sit them down and make a deal, like they can meet him, have him over for dinner, etc.

Just tell them straight. Tell them you are now 17 and that you should be treated as a 17 year old. You are nearly an adult and they should respect that. You need to let them know that you are not a baby any more and you can not be locked up and treated like one. You need to learn from your own mistakes and not ones your parents may have had. And if your parents don’t like it, then they obviously don’t remember what it was like being 17. Hope this helps and good luck!
